Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast is a family-owned and operated accommodation located in the quaint, desert village of Khamlia. Just minutes from the Sahara Desert on the southeastern edge of Morocco, Khamlia Desert B&B is run by husband & wife duo, Abdoul & Suzanne, along with their dedicated team, Ahmed, Fatima, Khadeja & Khadija. Here you will find true, extraordinary, Moroccan hospitality in this one-of-a-kind oasis that blends traditional Berber, Gnaoua & Irish culture.

Dining Service
Enjoy our delicious two-course lunch menu, served daily for two or more people for just €12 per person. Fancy a Berber pizza? Have that instead for €15. Our evening menu includes three traditional courses, prepared seasonally, for just €15 per person. Reservations required.
Rooftop Terrace
Enjoy the views from our spacious rooftop terrace any time of the day or night. Whether you want a hot cup of tea first thing in the morning, a lounge midday with a good book, or a nightcap & some stargazing long after the sun has set, our rooftop terrace awaits you.
Bicycle Rental
Explore the village with our €15 bicycle rentals. You will be delighted with the rich variety of locations to explore on our route maps, as well as full and half day planned routes. The nimble way to discover the desert!
Game Room
Leisurely enjoy our cozy game room with your friends & family. Choose from a myriad of board & card games, enjoy a book from our well-stocked library, or simply kick back and relax with a good film before bed.
Free Wifi
Enjoy free WiFi in our common area. Whether you need to check e-mail, correspond with loved ones back home, or make further travel arrangements, you can do so at Khamlia Desert B&B. Please note we do not currently provide WiFi in our rooms. Go ahead & disconnect.
Airport Shuttle
We are happy to arrange 4x4
transportation to and from the airport should you desire it. We can design besoke tours to suit your budget, schedule and interests. We are also happy to help you plan your own route if you are a self drive and plan to stay with us.
Swimming Pool
We can provide passes for a new swimming pool located within walking distance from our B&B. Passes cost €10 per person and include swim time plus one beverage. Towels are also available upon request.
Breakfast Service
Enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast of home-baked bread and fresh pancakes enjoyed with locally grown fruits, juices and syrups freshly prepared every morning. Available from 8-10am with a room booking or as a stand-alone service.

Nights in the Desert Dunes
We arrange bespoke Berber camping and glamping experiences. Trek through the dunes at sunset to your camp. Dine in the shadow of the Dunes, sip Moroccan tea and relax by a campfire with Gnaoua drumming . Enjoy staying overnight in the desert underneath breathtaking views of the night sky.
Camel & Desert Trekking
Experience the vast and mystical landscapes of the Sahara Desert by trekking the Erg Chebbi dunes. We provide guided tours that immerse you in the magic. Please be aware that trekking on sand dunes can be difficult & requires a reasonable level of fitness. Let the Sahara captivate you!
Souk Tours
Venture to Rissani & spend your day wandering the colourful souks & bustling marketplace. Former know as Sijilmassaa, Rissani was a thriving center of trade and remains a commercial center today. Here you will find sheep, spices, textiles, vegetables, fossils & so much more.
4x4 Adventure, Quad or Moto Ride
Take a 4x4 into the desert for a guided tour of nearby panoramic views, nomads and other desert delights. For the ultimate thrill seeker, come enjoy a quad or motorcycle tour of the desert & dunes. Fast, exhilarating, dusty & not for the faint of heart, get ready to saddle up & enjoy the ride of your life! We also have buggies!
Explore the Village & Beyond
Leisurely explore Khamlia on foot or by bicycle. Experience the village, it's culture, warmth and hospitality. Accept a local's invitation to share fresh bread and mint tea - also known as Berber whiskey ! Venture further to witness Mfis mining village, Hassilbid oasis and more.
Cultural Gnaoua
The Gnawa (or Gnaoua) are an ethnic group best known for their music, which is a rich repertoire of ancient African-Islamic spiritual songs. Their heritage combines ritual poetry with traditional music & dancing. Experience live Gnaoua rhythms with Gnawa Maalem & his troupe.
Dinosaur Bones & Fossils Expo
If Paleontology interests you, join us on a 4x4 tour of the desert & dunes as we search for rare dinosaur bones, desert fossils & ammonite. Explore the region's wildlife while you're at it. You just may see desert fox prints as well as beetles, sandfish, geckos, birds, hedgehogs & desert mice. Visit Taouz, the mining town at the end of the road to the Sahara.
Pamper Yourself
Go ahead and treat yourself. You deserve it. Enjoy a relaxing one or two hour Berber massage followed by the application of traditional Berber henna. Enjoy this centuries-old traditional as henna is applied to your hands or feet. Bask in relaxation as you rejuvenate.
Cooking Class
Immerse yourself in the culinary delights of the Maghreb. Take a cooking class and learn how to make Moroccan tagines as well as flatbreads. Olives, spices, preserved lemons, oh my! This one is for you foodies!
